Biography

Growing up the daughter of a PE teacher and super endurance athlete, it was inevitable that sports and fitness would be a big part of my life. I was going for runs, bike rides and swimming laps with my Mom practically from the moment I was born, and started playing team sports as a young child, which I continued all through high school and college. Even while serving in the United States Military, the physical fitness aspect was my favorite part, and I prided myself on “maxing” the PT test each time I took it.

After leaving the military, I struggled to find an athletic outlet. I tried distance running for several years, and then tried group fitness classes at a few different gym chains, but just was not completely fulfilled. After stumbling across some of the amazing female CrossFit Games athletes on Instagram, I decided it might be something I would like. I went into my first CrossFit class in 2018 thinking that I was in pretty good shape and would be fine, and was quickly humbled! It only took one class at Apollo for me to know that this was what I needed in my life.  I love CrossFit, and especially CrossFit Apollo, because not only does it give me the competitive athletic outlet that I crave in my life, it also gives me an awesome community of likeminded friends who are striving to live healthier, happier lives.

I work full time as a Nurse Practitioner and specialize in diabetes management, a disease which relies on a healthy lifestyle in order to manage. As a healthcare provider, I believe fully in the mission and theory of CrossFit and teach its fundamentals to my patients every day. In a world of processed food and sedentary lifestyles, it’s so important that we teach children the importance of regular exercise and healthy eating from a young age. I feel so privileged to be able to work with the Teens at Apollo, and I do not take this responsibility lightly. I hope to instill a love of health and fitness in these kids that will last a lifetime!
